Painted on a monastery wall at Santa Maria delle Grazie (Refectory), Milan

Recently "restored", apparently there was some criticism of the restoration upon its unveiling. However, there's a long history of "restorative" work on this painting (including an attempt to chip it off the wall its painted on!) The new and old images look quite different!

And of course, our entry point to all this was through Mel Brooks spoof on the last supper in "History of the World: Part 1", in which Brooks himself appears in the painting (standing, center, as the waiter). Loads of laughs!
